Greyhound City to City Featuring DJ Zebo

DJ ZEBO Greyhound City to City Featuring DJ Zebo

1. Who are you?
I am a dj /producer from Chicago who has two record labels, sES Records
and Hot Dog Records. Both labels release club tunes / remixes on wax and
digital distro. I have been a dj for 10 years and a producer for about 4.
I also throw events in the Chi and book artists from all over the world to
play my parties.
2. Where are you from?
I was born in a town outside of Chicago and have lived all over the
Midwest. I have been in Chicago for 10 years now. I have no plans on
leaving.
3. How does your music reflect the city where you’re from?
My style is an eclectic mix of dance music from various sources. You can
tell that I have a Chicago House influence and I also push a lot of Chicago
hip hop. I really like playing Chicago tracks when out of town. Chicago
has one of the greatest music scenes in the U.S. so it is not too difficult
to bring the Chicago sound and keep the party jumpin’.
4. How would you describe your music?
Like I said before my style is an eclectic mix of all kinds of music. My
style will depend on the crowd and the time of the evening. Earlier in the
evening I like to keep things fun, but not bangin’. During prime party time
I know to take it up to the appropriate level and most importantly to
interact with the crowd. You can tell when the room is not feeling
something and you have to do what it takes to keep them going.
5. Influences?
My two main dj influences are from Chicago and they are John Simmons and
Jesse De La Pena. In my opinion they are THE 2 best djs that I know. My
girlfriend has also been one of the most important influences on my style.
She is a walking encyclopedia of music who got me to think outside of what I
was used to and opened me up to a whole new world of sound.
6. Have you ever been on a Greyhound Bus? Where to? What was it like?
I have taken the Greyhound bus to cities close to Chicago such as
Milwaukee, Indianapolis, etc… Mainly for dj gigs. I have always had a nice
and easy trip on Greyhound. I relax and work on music during my trips…
they usually go pretty quick.
