bboys Beastie Boys Set to Rock For VotesAccording to Vibe.com, the Beastie Boys will be embarking on a brief tour across the Midwest. The purpose of this tour isn’t to support a new project but Obama in his presidential campaign.

Fittingly titled “Get Out And Vote”, the aim of this tour is to allow people to have a good time at night while inspiring people to vote the next day.

In an email the group sent out this morning, they stated, “This election is too important to stay at home. We hope that you can come out, have a nice night, dance, sing, get your freak on, and then wake up the next morning and get everyone that you possibly can to get out and vote… We are very excited about Obama. Hope you all feel the same.”

The trio from New York will not be rocking along. Joining them on this tour will be a diverse collection of artists such as Tenacious D, Sheryl Crow, Santogold, and various others.

All of the artists that are confirmed to be a part of this tour are outspoken supporters of Obama.

The closer we move toward the election day, the more apparent it becomes that music will play a vital role in winning fans not only to vote but whom to vote for.
