With the success of The Guitar Hero franchise, it was only a matter of time before the hip-hop counterpart came out. According to RollingStone.com, this project will be fittingly titled “DJ Hero”. This spin off of The Guitar Hero franchise will allow players to cut and scratch on a plastic turntable the notes that scroll down the screen.
Despite complications to acquire the rights for the songs to be used in this game and the issue of having the accessories currently compatible with the “Guitar Hero” game also work with “DJ Hero”, it appears that this game, which has been delayed for 24 months, will be released next summer.
With “Guitar Hero” creating such a huge movement of players devoting all of their time and attention to becoming the best virtual guitar players around, one can only imagine that as influential and popular as hip-hop already is, “DJ Hero” will inspire a new generation of plastic turntable welding hip hop enthusiasts.
Let the countdown begin until these plastic wheels of steel battles take place.
