I watched last night’s VMA’s at a friends house on DVR. The live broadcast didn’t stay within the alotted time, so Kanye’s performance was cut off. So instead I had to wait until this morning for the Youtube clip to pop up. And holy crap is it dope. It’s like Kanye on some electro-goth-ballad tip. In my head, I can almost hear Trent Reznor doing this song with more angst and dispair. Thankfully, Kanye avoids over-emoting, perhaps because his lightly auto-tuned vocals are a bit like vox botox. But he gets the point across with the blinking LCD broken heart on his lapel. Perfect Kanye—merging his fashion and his music to make a full statement.
Enough of my gushing. Just watch the clip and tell me if you don’t feel like giving Kanye a hug when it’s over.
