Shapeshifters, Visionaries and Dilated Peoples were up in Hollywood’s Safari Sam’s for a night of real LA rap. In fact, the only thing more quantifiable than the “authentic hip-hop heads” was the heat index, as the venue was easily 147 degrees fahrenheit. Easily.
Evidence was the night’s headliner and he played a grip of new material for the first time, including “Celeb Realilty” (over Lil Wayne’s “Let the Beat Build” beat) and “For Whatever It’s Worth” from fellow Dilated People Babu’s upcoming LP.
