The 20 year old son of hip hop legend Dr. Dre was found dead in his Woodland Hills home on Saturday morning. According to reports, Andre Young Jr. had gone out the previous night and arrived home around 5:30 a.m. His mother would later find him dead at around 10:00 a.m. when she tried to wake him up. The cause of death will be revealed after an autopsy and toxicology report is released.
Dre’s rep released the follwing statement: ” Dre Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre young Jr. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time”
One more very important thing to note. In doing research I found that various music and news blogs have been posting images and falsely reporting the death of Dre’s other son/rapper, Curtis Young, aka Hood Surgeon. Again to clarify, Andre Young Jr., not Curtis Young has passed. Regardless of said confusion, this is a tremendous tragedy, all thoughts and prayers are with Dre and his family.
