First off, a continuation of Day 1: parties. There are ALWAYS 5+ parties to choose from during tradeshow week. These parties are hosted by your favorite clothing lines, have great acts/DJS, and you’ll most likely see someone famous (or kinda famous). The catch? They’re 80% guys and 20% females, which sucks if you’re a guy. While female presence in streetwear is gradually increasing, these parties are proof that it’s still heavily dominated by men.
And so, after an evening of partying, Tuesday started off bright and early and sleepy as hell. Today we hit up PROJECT, which carries higher end / bigger lines. We walked up and down the 23348 aisles and saw everything from beautiful Costume National and sick as hell Supra, to less than appealing bedazzler-on-crack shit. You know that show on the E! network called, “Sunset Tan?” Yeah, well, they have a new clothing line coming out and it looks like Ed Hardy threw up and out fell more rhinestones. Not a pretty sight.
After hitting up all our favorite brands, or at least attempted to, we headed over to the Palazzo. There, we had the opportunity to view a new clothing line by Clipse titled Play Cloths. It’s a very simple line but definitely worth looking at. I love their icon, which is an image of a boy running… his name is Jack. After viewing the line, MYX tv interviewed Pusha T and Malice about the line. Definitely interesting so check back shortly and we’ll have that video for you)
That’s all I have for now. There’s still a dinner meeting and a Mos Def x Undrcrwn party so stay posted and I’ll have more for you later. For now, it’s nap time. This is THE only time to get in ANY sleep while in Vegas.
