Rappers in legal battles, what a phenomenon! From murder allegations, night club target practice, to the ever common get-pulled-over-with narc and guns cases, it never ends for our hip-hop brethren. 50 Cent’s keeping it real gangsta filing a 4 million dollar lawsuit against psuedo-Mexican food chain Taco Bell for a unauthorized use of his name in an upcoming ad campaign. The chihuahua-absent ads reportedly feature an obviously bogus request for the rapper to change his name to 79, 89, or 99 cents, the advertised prices of Taco Bell’s under-a-dollar menu. Now besides that being a bad-ass deal (grub under a dollar cant-miss), the use of Senor Cent’s name was a surprise to everyone but Taco Bell, and as any respectable business knows…you cant do that shit! Considering that Fiddy once sued an internet ad, you know those “shoot the rapper” ads at the top of your Myspace, for 1 million dollars, one has to wonder if the dual acts of demanding millions was backlash from a failed Kanye West album showdown, or just a business man doing big-money business. I dont see the U.S. treasury suing Fifty for his imitation of dual quarters, though Im sure they got enough money over there (duh!). One thing is for sure, if Fifty’s hood-inspired milli jacking of Taco Bell results in $1.50 cinnamon twists, budsmokers and insomniac drunks will be pretty fucking pissed.
