So perhaps the physicality of a mixtape isn’t present, but the connection and ideas built into them live on through the powers of cybertape. Muxtape, a website dedicated to making and sharing mixes allows its members to assemble playlists and share with everyone. Simply upload your tracks, then pick a color for the text, via hexadecimal code. Streaming audio, you just keep on surprising us! Granted, these glorified playlists aren’t exactly the same as tapes/ CDs (obviously), but at least you don’t have to wait for the real time recording, and then self delivery.
There are still a few terms to keep ya’lls from mixtape madness, and keep muxtape from the tape melting arm of the law (or so we hope). Apparently, taking multiple songs from one album is a no-no, not to mention against proper mixtape etiquette. Also “individual users May not create multiple muxtapes”, but you smart kids can figure out what that implies.
