BatBox

Released by nobody's bizzness

They would have
you believe this album represents a new
darker side for Miss Kittin. As Miss Herv’
herself puts it, ‘I was saying goodbye to old
ghosts…’ From the Gothic artwork by Emily
the Strange creator Rob Reger to the typically
over-affected vocals that are Kittin’s
trademark it all comes off as more than a
little twee, sort of Goth by Sanrio. As a concept
the album fails miserably, but taken as
individual tracks there are some that transcend’
the brooding ‘Lightmaker’ or the
nicely melodic DJ friendly track ‘Playmate
of the Century.’ If you’re a big Kittin fan
you’ll probably love the album. The rest of
us will be just as happy to let it pass us by.
