Sometimes, good things happen we sign on AIM. Most of the time, it’s mindless sharing of mindless links to mindless websites or great restaurants to get potentially get our eat on at….but not today. None other than Sage Francis squalored at URB.com and hipped us to two new cuts that are streaming on his StrangeFamous.com and now our website too. The cuts are from B Dolan and the crazy posse cut from Prolyphic and Reanimator, the first hip-hop acts signed to Sage’s Strange Famous Records. After already releasing Buck 65’s excellent Situation in the double-oh-seven, Sage is aiming to spew new artists onto the indie hip-hop scene in the oh-eight.
First up is B Dolan’s “Heart Failure”. The co-founder of KnowMore.org, Dolan might also be known to attendees of San Bernardino’s Paid Dues Festival as “Emo Knievel” (who jumped a toy bus during Sage’s set). Alias flipped the beat and Sage steps up the on the guest spot, while Dolan himself might be hitting an unidentified rapper with some subliminals….subliminally speaking, of course.
Secondly, is the wild posse cut from Prolyphic and Reanimator, “Survived Another Winter,” featuring B Dolan, Alias and Sage Francis. Sage told us, “This is our East Coast anthem song….trying to reinstate coastal rivalry….not really.”
Prolyphic and Reanimator’s The Ugly Truth and B Dolan’s Live Evel will be out this spring on Strange Famous Records. Also, check Dolan and Sage at the Paid Dues Festival….as well as Sage’s discussion with Buck 65 from URB#150.
