Justice nominated for best dance/electronic album, Wale sponsor Mark Ronson gets love too

The nominees for the 50th annual Grammy Awards were announced this morning, headlined by a car wreck survivor and a walking train wreck. Kanye West, aka the new OutKast in the eyes of the Grammys, leads the pack with eight nominees, including album of the year.Amy Winehouse has six nominations, which also means that Ronson and Nas-cohort Salaam Remi got nods too.

As far as the less populace categories, Justice got three nominations (best dance recording, best short form video and best dance/electronic album). The best dance/electronic album category is packed with URB favorites like LCD Soundsystem, Chemical Brothers, Tiesto, and Shiny Toy Guns. And if the Grammys have any sense of respect, they’ll give the award for best rap performance by a duo or group to UGK for “International Players Anthem.” The award is deserved on the song’s merit anyway, but with the recent passing of Pimp C, it only seems right.
