Wear a Scarf for Kenya

KKK105 lg Wear a Scarf for Kenya

This winter, get yourself a Kikoy. Kikoys are wraps made of woven cotton in colors that are inspired by the brilliant colors found along the East African coastline. They are knotted by a group of Kenyan women who work within their own home. Knotting these Kikoys provide the women an income to help support their family in poverty-stricken Kenya, while still being able to attend to their children. They are paid by piece, and while much patience is needed, the women are not physically burdened. With more and more awareness of the Kikoys, the group will be able to grow and aid more women. So support them, buy a Kikoy!

(The info above should be enough but just in case… think of it as the perfect layering piece in beautiful color combinations that you’re not gonna find at Urban Outfitters. Whether you’re male or female, a scarf is the best accessory for winter. Being able to wear it as a dress/skirt/top later on is just an added bonus for the ladies).
