Willy Joy, blogging from the club.

It's come to this: I'm blogging from the club. I'm in Providence, RI tonight, and we're setting up for this month's edition of Providence Is Burning. This night is run by Max and Sam of Certified Bananas, who are probably some of my favorite DJs and general dudes ever. The space is this amazing art space called Firehouse 13 – it used to be an actual firehouse and has since been converted into a pretty awesome warehouse-y type building with 3 floors. I'll give a recap of tonight in a day or two, but for now let's recap my great night in Philly.

The picture above is of me riding on my friend Will's back. Will is moving to London as I write this – good luck out there man! We're outside the Khyber, which is an awesome (and classic, I'm told) Philly venue. Very dive-y, lots of exposed brick, and cheap beer. I was playing with Dev79 and Stumble who both pretty much ripped it up. The former went into a killer reggaeton section that kind of came out of nowhere and set fire to the dancefloor. I was going nuts. It's kind of trendy to hate on reggaeton now that it isn't the new “hot” sound right now, but there's still some of those tunes that can't be fucked with on the floor. When it came time for me I got everyone open with some Soul Decision and from then on it was game over.
