Mohammed Ali, an internationally acclaimed aerosol artist, will be producing a memorial mural in Bronx, New York, commemorating the tragic deaths of 9 Bronx children who died during the Mar 7th fire in the Woodycrest/Highbridge section of the Bronx.
Mohammed Ali's unique fusion of aerosol art with Islamic calligraphy has been reported as a “bridge of understanding” between faith communities across the world, and has been featured in international media ranging from CNN and the BBC to Al Jazeera.
The Memorial Mural is sponsored by ICNA Relief, USA. Mr. Elhadi E. Mohammed has graciously donated wall space at 56 E. Mt. Eden Avenue, for this community project. The surviving Magassa and Soumare family members have been engaged in the planning of this artwork with Mohammed Ali. The mural is the artist's reflections of the communities impacted by the tragedy as an expression of grief and condolence.
