Arriving right in time after their best album in years, this four-track Yo La Tengo EP is all over the map sonically, switching from grinding guitars (’El Es Gay’) to an 11-minute locked groove (’Pass the Hatchet, I Think I’m Goodkind’) to a Nico-exhuming piano ballad (’Weakest Part’) to a raucous riff on ‘Twist and Shout’ (’Luci Baines’). Definitely worth the $4.
