I rate Sun-Ra, but probably in a really uncool way. I don’t get all the noodly jazz-fest improv stuff, but love all the poppy 3.5 minute accessible tunes. This one is my favourite. I love the way the drums crumble into the midrange, the looseness of the instrumentation too, the innocence of the lyrics. Such an upbeat little track but there’s something really sad and mournful about it that I can’t put my finger on.
